Retired engineer George Tregay, a volunteer energy assessor for Waste Reduction Partners, inside the Madison County Courthouse in Marshall, N.C., Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, following an energy assessment of the historic building built in 1906. Tregay measured light output throughout the building, checked the age and power usage of older fixtures and compiled his findings for the county manager to review and help asses what energy reductions could be made with the help of federal funding.
